David & Goliath Makes Its Broadway Debut!

David and Ashley Eckstein will be reading and demonstrating the David and Goliath App for the iPad: MVP Edition at the
Apple Storeon Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Wednesday, November 30 at 7pm!

Bring the kids to this event to hear 2006 World Series MVP David Eckstein read from the interactive iPad app he narrated, David&Goliath, MVP Edition. And stay for a moderated discussion with him and his wife, Ashley, as they talk about how David overcame odds to achieve glory in his own modern-day version of the tale.

“David and Goliath, the Masterpiece!”

Now, we here at Jumping Pages know that “David and Goliath” is a masterpiece, but the reason the headline of this post is in quotes is because that’s the headline of the apps’ latest review from Apps4Kids.net.

And, while we also believe that the app deserves accolades and medals (and ribbons, like the one picture above), we are please to announce that the website has bestowed said ribbon to “David and Goliath” for making its Top 10 Apps list!

While we strive for creativity here at Jumping Pages, we must acknowledge that the catchy headline and colorful graphic pictured above have both been borrowed!

World Series Might be Over, but David & Goliath Goes On!

David and Ashley Eckstein, stars of the David and Goliath App, MVP Edition

Yardbarker.com, a FOX Sports blog posted a story/review today about the David Eckstein and Jumping Pages David and Goliath app!

Yes, the World Series might be over, the Cardinals the victors again, and another David is chosen as winner of the MVP, but the magic of the app, and the other David’s performance in the 2006 Series lives on.

According to blogger Craig Turley: “Eckstein, as many of my St. Louis baseball fans recall, played the role of “David” in his 2006 heroic World Series MVP performance over the Detroit Tigers. It is only appropriate the St. Louis Cardinals celebrated another World Series Championship in 2011 at the same time Jumping Pages released this terrific 3D animated app for the Ipad!”

David Eckstein Throws Out First Pitch, and Praises the App!

David Eckstein spoke to
Major League Baseball dot com prior to throwing out the first pitch of Game 6 of the World Series tonight, and talked about his involvement with the making and narration of the David & Goliath for the iPad app book for kids! Kudos to David for a job well done, both on and off the field!

Smart Apps for Kids Gives Smart Review!

Smart Apps for Kids, a dad’s quest to find the best educational apps for the iPad and iPhone, just reviewed the David and Goliath for the iPad; MVP Edition, narrated by David Eckstein.

“The app is outstanding with fantastic, vibrant animations and images…The subtitle “MVP Edition” isn’t an empty moniker, either,” said the review.

The review concluded with a nod to the kids enjoyment of the app: “I like the app a lot and my kids REALLY enjoyed the story. E, who is small for his age, was thrilled at watching the outcome and Lily, who probably didn’t understand more than half of the text as it was read, also was head-on-my-shoulder attentive. (If Lily holds still, that’s a good sign.)…the app is a must-download.”

The iPhoneMom

Another great review for David and Goliath for the iPad!
The iPhone Mom just reviewed the MVP Edition and said “…the illustrations for David and Goliath are top notch. I found this to be one of the most entertaining Bible stories I’ve seen for the iPad.”

In addition, the iPhone Mom pointed out that the app’s story hits the right amount of detail. “I’ve read some versions that are so short you wonder what in the world David was doing out on the battlefield in the first place. Here you get just enough background information so that the enormity of what David does makes sense,” said the iPhone Mom!  She also complemented the story’s narrator, 2006 World Series MVP David Eckstein writing that he did “a nice job” and we agree!

Many thanks to one of our favorite moms for the positive review of the story.

BestAppsforKids Loves D&G!

Read what
BestAppsforKids says about David & Goliath MVP Edition: “With its soaring soundtrack, sweeping scenes and brilliant set of interactive features, the David and Goliath for the iPad MVP Edition app is one of the highest quality eBooks out there.”

In addition, the review adds:  “The MVP edition…is narrated by none other than baseball super star David Eckstein, MVP of the 2006 World Series, who is no stranger to overcoming great odds. There is even a special message at the end of the story from Eckstein’s wife, actress Ashley Eckstein, about the importance of perseverance in the face of opposition. Now that’s a message you can really get behind.”

Many thanks to the site for the kind review!
